- For some reason all my office products (word, excel, outlook, access etc.) icons in the start menu and desktop task bar have all been replaced by the generic white icons. I am unable to uninstall or repair this. I believe (from what I've read on the internet) that it is connected to the 'C: windows installer' folder and the Office installer files.

MacBook Pro :: Its Displaying A Solid Color Screen
Apr 29, 2012I am having more issues with my MacBook Pro and it's really starting to irrate me, because I know if I take it to the Apple Store they aren't going to do anything about it. But anyways, lately my screen has been turning all kinds of colors. For example I'll be watching a video on YouTube and all of a sudden my screen will go solid white. And the only way to fix it is the restart by holding down the power button. The second time it happened it turn black. And each time it happens a different color appears. So far I've had white, black, blue, purple, green, and red.

OS X Mavericks :: App Store Toolbar Icons Grayed Out
Aug 24, 2014In App Store Version 1.3, running under OS X 10.9.4, the past couple of days the toolbar icons across the top of the main window --
Featured, Top Charts, Categories, Purchases, Updates -- are all grayed out. So when I try to click on any one of them, nothing happens.Â
I can select the corresponding pane by using the App Store's Store menu, and then the grayed-out icon for it shows a very light blue.Â
Non-functioing of the toolbar icons is an annoyance.Â
But why aren't the toolbar icons working and how do I get them back?

Applications :: Office 2008 Toolbar Icons Missing
Jan 10, 2011I am using Microsoft Office for Mac 2008, which has been performing fine for many months. Now all of a sudden the icons are missing on my toolbars. All that it shows in the toolbar window, (both standard and format toolbars), is the text without the icons, with just a blank dark area where the tool icons should be, leaving the toolbar impossible to use in any practical way. No amount of selecting or de-selecting the toolbars via drop down window 'view', or changing the option for 'text and icons', or 'resetting the toolbars in customise will change this situation. The problem has occurred in all of 'word', 'excel', 'PowerPoint' and Entourage. I have tried reinstalling office from the original CD, but the problem persists. I have even quarantined the normal.dotm file before reinstalling office, but it simply created a new 'normal' file with the same result. No icons on the toolbars. I am using OS X leopard. I haven't yet resorted to reinstalling leopard, but what else is there?!? Any clues to what has caused this to suddenly occur?

OS X Mavericks :: Why Are Header Icons And Toolbar Buttons Grayed Out
Dec 7, 2014I purchased a used Macbook Pro from ebay. Appeared to be in good working order when I first started working with it, but I have updated from OS X 10.9.2 to 10.9.5 and downloaded Open Office program, set up my mail and went through the system preferences and personalized it. Also ran disk utilities. Then, this AM, when I restarted, the header icons on the right side are grayed out except for the battery %, the date and time and notifications. Also, in mail and safari, the toolbar buttons are blank (forward, back, print, mail, bookmarks, autofil, history and downloads). I went to the disk utility from the recovery partition (repaired disk and disk permissions). I also reset parameters. Don't know what to do next. Not sure if this is a hardware or software problem, but I am assuming it is software (OS X) related at this point.Â

Software :: Icons Keep Disappearing / Opens In Color Sync Instead Of Preview
Dec 14, 2010Ok I have been trying to find the reason why this is happening. I am having an issue with the icons disappearing, the file is still there and you can click on it if you click on the words, but the icon is not there just the icon is gone. The icon that is not showing up is the folder icon primarily. I have searched several different sites and can not find an answer to my problem. I have included a link to view what my desktop looks like with the files pictured so you get an idea.
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b3..k/Picture3.png
I have tried to do the equivalent of a (rebuild desktop) desktop reset which was a program I downloaded from apple:
http://www.apple.com/downloads/macos..s/xupport.html
It did not help either and after installing that and doing the reset. Now when I go to open a picture, it opens in color sync instead of preview. The only way I can open a picture in preview is to open preview and then open a picture through itIt is like color sync is the default for some reason. Does someone know how to fix this? But my main concern is tis icon issue I am having. I don't know what to do as it is making it very hard to work. This even carries over to my external drives when hooked up. I need help as I do not know why it is doing this
As far as other information, I just installed Tiger a few months ago if that helps any and this is on a mac mini. Other than that everything has been the same. I have relaunched the finder through opt+cmd+esc but it is not available to relaunch through right clicking the icon on the dock. Also it no longer allows me to drag a picture file over a program like Photoshop in the dock to open it in Photoshop. What is going on here?
